Pronouncing Barrett

To be honest, I always thought that Barrett was pronounced: Ba-ray. Yeah, I know Then eventually I realized that it's pronounced Ba-ret (I think)

Perhaps even more sad than the fact that I thought Barrett was pronounced Ba-ray, was that the only reason I suspected it was Ba-ret, is because of a character called Barrett in Deus Ex: Human Revolution...

Anyone else pick up Deus Ex: Human Revolution?

Also, has anyone else been pronouncing Barrett wrong?

So you say it's pronounced ba-ray and not bar-ret? Gosh, this would be perfect for a "you're doing it wrong" line.

I now know it ba-ret, but yup, that was a pretty Fail moment for me...

I pronounce it "Bear-it". I'm not the only one, right? RIGHT?!

I often pronounce it "bar-red" and sometimes "bar-ret" now I don´t know if it's "bar-red", "bear-it", "bar-ray" or "bar-ret". This topic made me think like crazy...

Nope. I pronounce it like that as well.
It just seems... logical to me.

I had pronounced it Bar-et, since the spelling is quite to Barrell's.

I just realized the sub-title had "And similarities in names", or something along those lines, and wrote nothing about it. Anways,getting to that; have you noticed that there's often two repeating letters in Legends names?

Examples: Barett Volnutt Caskett Barelletc.

I pronounce it "Bar-ret" as in japanese pronunciation "Ba-re-to" without that last o.

Bar-ett. I've said it that way ever since Barrett appeared in FFVII.

Maybe I'll stick with the one similiar to barrell.
