The Chatbox

What exactly is the "Chatboc" at the bottom of the homepage. I'd assume it's a place to chat with other users, am I right?

My question is, why is it never open?
It seems like it could be useful. Not to mention an adequate replacement for the once-active Megaman Legends 3 IRC.

It's ALWAYS up. The problem is that nobody ever uses it.

Whenever I see or, or even try and use it, it ends up saying "You are disconnected" as soon as I join...Edit: Nevermind, I figured out how to sing-in to the chatroom.

When I see other people are online, I sometimes put a "Hello" or "Hi" there. I think one time I typed like crazy, but dunno. I've NEVER EVER EVER seen anyone in there logging in. One time I did see someone, but he disconnected ):

I had a somewhat lengthy conversation on it once, and it works fine. The only problem is once the text hit the bottom of the chatbox screen, it doesn't scroll immediately; it's about a line behind, which makes reading a bit of a problem. We just kept sending single-character extra messages such as a single period after we typed so we could still read things.

That's a nice idea if it gets to be used. Good to know it has been used for something

I logged in once and chat a few minutes, we had the same trouble as Pixel, we just kept sending "." to read the last message, I thought I would fix it if I made larger the chat window, but the problem was the same.

I'll see if I can fix the chatbox. I would have done it earlier, but nobody reported any problems with it at all. (Until now.)

I don't find it a problem at all. I mean, typing a "." isn't that hard.

Skype is a better idea than the chatbox...

The Skype meetings take place every once in a while, and right now there are no plans for another, but I'm assuming there will be one soon.
Also, as far as I know, the Skype meetings are only between Lead and DASH developers, but that's not to say that a forum-wide Skype chat isn't possible.

Would an IRC thread be more efficient for the majority of the members? Like how the basic idea of a House of Reps work instead of the "Senate" which would be the Skype sessions with the higher ups?

Well, I set up an IRC Channel a while ago, but nobody noticed it.
It could be a great place to use if we're gonna brainstorm with text, since some people don't have skype.

The link doesn't work for me.

Go to www.rizon.net, click go chat, put in a nickname, put #ProjectLegends for the channel, and click connect.

You'll probably need to do it from an IRC client then. I recommend Mibbit.

Go to this link and on the server dropdown list, look for Rizon. Afterwards, put in your nick, which can be whatever you want, and on the channel box, put in #ProjectLegends.

what do you mean by OP? another moderator? I volunteer QuietlyThinking. He was one of the people who moderated the Devroom IRC. He recently joined Project Legends

Channel Operator, but basically yeah. Once we get the IRC channel a schedule and/or regular visitations, I'll check in with him.

Nice to see some movement in brainstorming. Congratz to all you want to do to help! ;D
